  • What I Do

I lead efforts between my company and our customer, one of the world's largest aircraft manufacturers, to ensure our parts are of the highest quality. My team investigates all customer returns for opportunities to fix or improve quality. We also support the development of new designs, ensuring they meet our customer's requirements.

  • School Days

I went to Iowa State for a degree in mechanical engineering. I am currently working on a Master's degree in Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

  • My Day At Work

"Relentless Root Cause and Corrective Action"; I pull together mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, technicians, machinists, design engineers, field service engineers, whoever is needed to dig to the root of a problem and fix it. We focus on solving the problem so that it never returns again. We don't stop at a band-aid fix; we are relentless.

  • Best Part

There are new problems to tackle every day. I am always learning new things.

  • Proud Moments

I redesigned a piece of equipment that we used to make one of our parts. The improvements made it quicker for our assemblers to build the parts and was also more comfortable for them to use.

It was not just my proud moment though, the project was a group effort between the assemblers, an electronics engineer, a machinist, and me. It took everyone pitching in and working together to make the project a success.

  • My Family

Engineering is a family past time for me. I am fortunate to have a dad, a sister, and a brother who are also in engineering. Our holiday visits home often involve time in the garage fixing and building things together.

Even the siblings who are not engineers like joining in. They always bring fresh, creative ideas to our projects.

  • Want to be an Engineer?

My advice to any young person is to join clubs, get involved, use your interests to learn to be a better team member and leader.

Engineering can be a very social job. It is important to learn how to work with others, how to ask for help, and how to communicate well.

Volunteer Opportunities
  • I am willing to serve as science fair judge or other temporary volunteer at a local school.
  • I am willing to be contacted about potential job shadowing by interested students.
  • I am willing to be interviewed by interested students via email.
