Daily life for a chemical engineer in the pharmaceutical industry?

Hi! What would a realistic expectation of a chemical engineer's daily life in the pharmaceutical industry look like? I don't want to get the wrong idea of what they do. For example, if chemical engineers are the people who just monitor the processes and use scale-up, or if they actually help research and make the medicine and drugs.
