What I Do I was always interested in space exploration and I knew that I wanted my career to align with it. Even though my current role is based on commercial and military flight, I am surrounded by people who share the same passion for learning, space, and flight.
School Days I went to The City College of New York, Grove School of Engineering for my bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. I am currently pursuing a masters degree in mechanical engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Whiting School of Engineering.
Best Part Getting to tell other people I'm an engineer and the work I do. Autonomous flight, working on airplanes and helicopters, designing parts that will be used in flight, etc. It makes me really proud to talk about my work.
Proud Moments My proudest moment is graduating with honors in engineering. I had many people tell me I couldn't do it and I did face some sexism while pursuing my engineering degree. So proving to everyone that I was capable was a great feeling.
Want to be an Engineer? Do not give up! So many times I had people tell me I wasn't good enough and I should quit. Many times I did consider changing my major but I had family that supported me fiercely. Believe in yourself and trust that you are capable of anything you put your mind to.
Hobbies I love to cook, dress up and put on make up, wear pink and wear heels... Just because I am an engineer does not mean I cannot enjoy these things. You can be an engineer and be as girly as you want.
