What I Do I am the Senior Director of Engineering at BRD. I am leading the engineering team to the moon!
Why Engineering? I decided to go into engineering because I was good and math and science and I loved computers. I also found it challenging which made things more interesting.
My Family My dad inspired me to go into engineering. He is an engineer and bought me my first computer at the age of 10! We didn't have a lot growing up, but the one thing my dad would spend on was education.
Want to be an Engineer? There are so many more resources out there to bring women up that I didn't have or didn't know about when I was younger. Do a lot of research. Network. Join communities like this one. Negotiate your salary (and more). Remember it never hurts to ask for the things you want. Push back when you disagree with something. Speak up. Work hard. Be honest, positive and kind! Be your authentic self rather than trying to emulate someone who you think has it easier than you. Pay it forward.
