  • What I Do

Within a nonprofit, I direct technology strategies, projects, budgets, and operations for RAPS including infrastructure, support, AMS/CMS systems (Kentico, Personify, Impexium), website, phone, network, technology staff, technology strategies.

  • Why Engineering?

Technology is an engineering platform.  I fell into it as a project manager and recognized I have a talent for it.

  • School Days

    University of Maryland, University College

  • My Day At Work

Tracking technology projects, holding planning meetings, solving issues and problems, finding solutions, working with other departments to improve processes and procedures.

  • Best Part

Solving problems or finding a solution for something new or groundbreaking in the nonprofit industry.

  • Proud Moments

I am currently on the ASAE Technology Council which is a group who creates content for others on association technology.  In my past, I created one of the first licensed online project management applications.

  • Challenges

Breaking into the management area was quite a challenge.  It's not assumed that you're ready to be promoted as a woman whereas men typically are.  I had to switch jobs for promotional opportunities.

  • My Family

I have a 17-year-old son who is graduating this year. He is going into a game design and simulation program in college. Other than that, I have two crazy kittens.

  • Dreams and Goals

I've achieved my short term goal of getting into management. Long-term I'd like to have my own consulting firm for when I am ready for retirement so I can work remotely and do things on my own time.

  • Inspiration

Audrey Hepburn is one of my inspirations because of her strength and conviction to do the right thing.  Others include Michelle Obama and Theresa Payton who is a pioneer in cyber security for women.

  • Want to be an Engineer?

Engineering isn't just hardware, it's many things technical. It can be fun and challenging at the same time, like a puzzle. We can be women who love makeup, dresses, emotional, and be fantastic engineers.

  • Hobbies

I love ready mysteries, especially those with a twist or based in the 20s-40s eras. Movies are the same. I am a huge fan of Audrey Hepburn movies. I have a green thumb, love running, nature, and travel.
