Does every branch of engineering require chemistry?

Do civil engineers absolutely need to do chemistry?

I think most degree programs for Civil Engineers will require basic chemistry, yes. Depending on where you go, that might be all that is required, as opposed to OChem and PChem as well, for example. But it is a valuable discipline for civil engineers. I am a water resources engineer and basic chemistry is a foundation for all things that come after it related to water quality, environmental engineering and the properties of water which lead into hydrology, hydraulics and pollution control. Other subsets of civil might have other examples of where the foundation in chemistry leads to a greater depth of knowledge in the specific discipline.
