Choosing between mechatronics or electronics

Hi, I just got done with my entrance exam and I'm in a dilemma. I need to choose my UG course. Options are either mechatronics or electrical and electronics. You've been asked exactly the same question once before.. What I would like to know is the scope in both the fields. I don't have any plans to work in my UG field, instead simply acquire an MBA degree 2-3 years after my UG. I would like to know, from the two mentioned branches, which is the right choice keeping the scope, job opportunity and money factor in mind. Thanks a million.. :)

If you don't plan on working in the field, and your most important factors are scope, job opportunity and money factor, I would say go with electrical and electronics engineering.  Mechatronics gives you a broader range of knowledge across mechanical, electrical and computer systems engineering.  A straight electrical degree gives you access to a much bigger job field - jobs that have existed for much longer than mechatronics jobs have existed for.  Mechatronics is very fun, but given its larger scope, takes longer to become masterful in.
