Claire, Alfred, NY asked Selma Sabera, Artsybot AddedTuesday, September 2, 2014 at 11:33 AM Do you know any materials engineers that work in entertainment? Hello Selma, I am a ceramic engineering student at Alfred University who also works in technical theater for the performing arts department at Alfred University. I am currently looking for opportunities that combine materials engineering and entertainment after graduation. I was wondering if you know of or currently interact with any material engineers or companies who hire material engineers? Thank you! They always need fabricators of different levels and there might be research opportunities in their RnD departments as well. Another place that comes to mind is Jim Henson Studios, although those positions tend to be more artistic but you do get to fabricate puppets out of various materials. There are other model shops as well, like Weta in New Zealand, but again, those might be more artistic, model making positions than engineering positions. Hope this helps & good luck! Thanks, Selma
