Choosing summer employment

HI! I'm a freshman mechanical engineer in Cooper Union and you are such an inspiration! You could say I'm going through a dilemma right now. Classes are tough and I can't imagine myself becoming a good engineer because of my inexperience and ignorance. I know for my future's sake, for summer income, I should go for an engineering internship, but I don't have the requirements (GPA<3.0) and I feel like I'm not ready for it and kind of intimidated. My other option is to teach at a summer school. Should I continue striving for a engineering internship over the summer? Thank you!!!!!!

    Hi Jen,

I'm very late to respond here, so I apologize! I really hope you had the opportunity to pursue that engineering internship. If you happen to see this very late response of mine, I'd love to hear what you did!

For anyone else reading this, do not be intimidated to apply due to your GPA, and go pursue internships! Sometimes students have lower GPA's due to external factors and they're actually very talented.

Remember that GPA's don't define your capabilities.

    All my best,
    Megan
