Bianka asked Agatha Kim, AECOM AddedSaturday, January 4, 2020 at 4:02 PM How do you work? Do you do you work mostly in-person? Via computer? Paperwork? Related to Civil, Environmental, Work Environment Reset Sort By Default Agatha Kim , AECOM Answered Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 4:54 PM I'm so sorry I missed this question. It's so late and you've probably already gotten your answer, but I work in front of a computer screen most of the time, answering emails, reviewing reports, designing and checking construction plans. I love going out to the field and seeing my work sites in person and being able to talk to people, so while these occurrences are not as often as it used to be, I still get to do it every once in a while and it's still my favorite part of my job. Almost all of our paperwork is done on the computer now, so there's not much of that. We do have a lot of meetings though and communication is key to being a successful engineer. Written, spoken, etc. Being able to connect with people is the most difficult but most important part of being an engineer. If you had all the answers, but no one understood what you were trying to say, it wouldn't matter if you could solve the answer. Almost everything I do is as part of a team.
