They are instrumental in terms of determining what types of robot behaviors are optimal for improving patient outcomes, designing appropriate human-robot interaction therapy protocols, and assessment & comparison of outcomes between different intervention methods. Typically, most OTs/PTs learn languages that enable them to lead the statistical analysis portion of these projects (example using R or SPSS Statistics).
