Choosing between software and computer engineering

Hello! I loved reading about you and your career! Thanks for sharing with us! I find you particularly inspiring! I have decided that I want to be a Software Engineer and I hope to also create apps and such in the future! I am supposed to start school in the Fall but I am now really confused. Should I go for a Software Engineering degree or a Computer Science degree? My friend says that I should go for CS because I may have more career options and that Software Engineering is not broad enough. I have tried searching for info online about the differences between the two and what would be a better fit for me and I am more lost now than when I started. I see that you have a Computer Science degree, but you're doing what I want to do! Please help break this down for me. Maybe include a Pros & Cons list? I am so excited to get started on school but I don't want to be spending time and money on courses that I possibly do not need to be taking for my desired end result!!
