What I Do My experience in Civil Engineering has mostly been around Transport and Roads. Currently I am assisting clients with transport planning, design and providing technical advice for roads and rail projects.
Why Engineering? I loved science and mathematics in high school but also art and graphic design, however I didn't know what careers I could considerer. Some options I did consider were Architecture, Biotechnology, Nursing however it was my Scicence Teacher who suggested I could be a good Engineer that led me into this career!
Best Part To be able to thinking creatively, technically and see your work being implemented or built in real life.
Proud Moments I have had various nominations and awards but my most memorable one was winning a national award in 2017 for my work in improving road safety and providing road safety infrastructure to communities to reduce the crash in dangerous locations. This award was presented as part of the 2017 Australian Grand Prix and the event was sponsored by many of the States. In all I was able to obtain $6M from the federal government to assist the community with making their roads safer.
Want to be an Engineer? Engineering is a very broad area. There are so many options to explore. You will always be learning and developing and that's the most exciting part.
Hobbies I enjoy going on walks along the beach, trails and hiking in the mountains. I love music too.
