Can I combine surgery with biomedical engineering?

Hi! My name is Renee and I'm really interested in becoming a neurosurgeon when I grow up. Lately, I've done a school project on a biomedical engineer and it really caught my eye. I have a question about it. If I also want to do surgery, would I be able to combine doing surgery and also doing some things that a biomedical engineer would do such as using artificial organs and stuff similar to that?
