What I Do I am a development engineer at an aerospace company, we manufacture the explosive components on emergency egress systems on different aerospace products.
Why Engineering? At first I wasn't completely sure I wanted to be an engineer because of what people think engineering is, sitting behind a desk and doing math or physics problems, but then I learned how broad engineering can be. You can do so many things with an engineering degree and that is what I love about engineering.
School Days I went to Florida International University and have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Psychology.
My Family I was born in Colombia and we moved to Miami, FL when I was around 6 years old. We are a very proud Colombian family who enjoys food, traveling and spending time together. I have one younger brother who is a nationally ranked kicker in high school football.
Want to be an Engineer? Anyone can be an engineer, do not be afraid because it sounds scary. Engineering is what you make of it, you can go into management, sales, research, be very technical, absolutely anything. It is tough but it is worth it, engineering opens a lot of doors, if this is something you want to do, do it! You can figure out what exactly you want to be more focused on later on.
