What should I be doing as a high school student that will help me achieve a career in Aerospace Engineering?

I will be a sophomore in high school this fall, and I want to take the classes and learn what I should be learning that will help me achieve my dreams of being an aerospace engineer. Before I even knew the name for aerospace engineering, I realized I want to be an astronaut. I want to know what it's like to be strapped into my seat as the rocket starts and the countdown to liftoff ends. I want to know what it's like to see Earth from such a great distance. I want to be part of something bigger than myself. I really would like to be a great aerospace engineer, maybe even one of the bests. Whatever I end up doing, I don't want to be forgotten after I die. I want to be in the history books. I want to be remembered for centuries.
