Glad to see you want to re-enter your field!!! The question is whether you want to use your 2 years as a content writer to promote engineering or whether you want to go back to engineering. As a content writer it is important to know have a fairly good knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Macromedia flash, MS- FrontPage, and word press, and SEO, etc would be of benefit in this profession. That would be awesome by the way!! Engineering really needs better communication!!

But if you are looking to re-enter the engineering profession then it would depend what it is you want to do as that depends on the engineering software. For example, if you’re looking to be a designer, then softwares using BIM are essential. However, if you're looking to go into construction or project management, then you need to understand Oracle-based and Microsoft softwares that revolve around scheduling, cost control and document management.

I wish you the best. If you have more specifics of what you want to do I’d be happy to guide you in the best path forward!!
