I actually never realized that I would be good at engineering when I was young and in high school. I just knew the subjects that I really enjoyed (biology, chemistry, and math). However, I was not really great at math. I was just good in chemistry and biology. However, when I was looking at colleges, the courses offered by engineering colleges interested me a lot. This was when I realized that I wanted to be an engineer more than anything else. I would like to point out here that all that matters in being an engineer is your sense of interest and love for the courses in engineering. This will help you spark your sense of wonder and problem-solving skills. I also realized through my undergrad degree that I loved problem-solving in the courses more than discovery. Inventing is a key part of engineering! Good luck! Best, Priya Priya Singha , University of Georgia Answered Friday, September 28, 2018 at 4:46 PM Hi Laila, That's a great question!
