What made you decide on majoring in engineering?

Hey Victoria,

I feel like God lead me to your page for a reason I am going into my sophomore year in college and still have not figured out exactly what i want to major in. I definitely want to be a business owner in the future and my heart is in performing arts such as dance, art, modeling, and acting but I have no possible way of putting those things into a single major. I am stuck between deciding to major in engineering or business. I’ve been seeking mentorship but I feel like I’m stuck, so I would love to know what led you to your decision.

    Hey Destiny!

I am so glad you found my page because you sound like a mini me. Starting at an early age my mom put me in Piano and then I continued studying piano up until my freshman year in college. (Probably should start back practicing,) I also love modeling, acting , and art as well! You definetely should continue doing those things on the side especially if your heart is in it. Don't compartmentalize yourself EVER. I was very lost before I got into engineering. I was a business major and wasnt happy at all. I prayed about it ALOT and really tried to listen to what God wanted for me. Literally I woke up one day and sparatically decided to change my major to engineering. What helped me to really do this is just making a solid decision and trusting it would work out for the best. because I prayed about it. After I made the decision to transfer schools and start engineering things just started working out for me. Also, since you dont know what you want to major in yet just make sure you take your basics so when you do decide you will have your core classes out the way. I would also like to add that if you do choose engineering its easier to transition into other things after. If you get into business its harder to go into other areas of work like engineering, design, or automation. In summary what helped me make my decision is I confidently chose engineering knowing all of the opportunities it could bring and trusted God would do the rest. I hope this helps.
