The best things I can suggest are to take advantage of any networks you can. If you are a member of SWE you can start there. They have a career center online, and networking at their annual conference is a great place to begin. Also check to see if the university you are attending or the one you graduated from have a career center that can help. Universities have a large stake in making sure their alums can find gainful employment. If you aren't able to find anything quickly, don't let your skills lag. Look into a volunteer position if you have to. It will keep you from having a large gap in your resume, and may just lead to your next job lead. Good luck.
