  • What I Do

    I am a researcher working on the stem cells and their use in the treatment of different diseases.

  • Why Engineering?

    Since primary school, Science has been my favorite subject. Especially, I was quite interested in Biology. At high school, I decided Bioengineering was the perfect fit for me since I wanted to find cures for diseases.

  • School Days

    I earned my bachelor and master degrees from Turkey in bioengineering. Then I've moved to Portugal to start my PhD at MIT-Portugal Program, which is a collaboration between Portugal and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). During my PhD, I spent 1.5 years at MIT and 3.5 years in Portugal.

  • My Day At Work

    Most of the days, I spend my time at lab doing experiments and guiding students/interns working with me. It's always a great excitement to get results of experiments aiming at finding solutions for the problems we are working on.

  • Hobbies

    I like reading and spending time with my family. I am a planner girl who likes to learn new things and travel to different countries. I also love watching movies with my husband and playing with my 2 cats: Micro and Pico.
