Am I good enough for my future electrical engineering career?

I am in my third year majoring in electrical engineering. The courses are challenging and I like this, I have a high GPA, and I am the first on the honor list.

But when it comes to life after graduating, I feel I am not good enough. I don't think I know much to take responsibilities as an engineer, I feel the practical part might be too much for me. All of this is stressing me out, forcing me to hate university for not training us enough and with its obsolete facilities.

it seems no one is getting it. I can't see myself graduating then join the market of skill-less engineers.

Appreciated Ag Nar. I understand your concern, which is genuine. First of all, you can understand that all of us who have graduated have a situation similar to yours, there will always be a technological gap between the university and professional life. That gap in some countries is large, while other cases are small.

On the other hand it is necessary that you understand that the university offers you a basic academic training, the essential thing to start your working life, which you can develop in electrical maintenance, electrical installations, research, teaching, technical sales, technology development, manufacturing, etc. As you will see there are a lot of areas in which later you will deepen according to your interests and opportunities.

Academic training is a part of the education offered by the university, you will also learn the value of responsibility. You will have the ability to solve problems and you will look for, understand and apply the knowledge necessary to solve these problems and you will be able to do it thanks to the basic knowledge that the university offers, regardless of the technological gap of the university laboratories.

    Some recommendations:

    1. Try to read up-to-date technical articles that lead you to have a new professional and technological vision.
    2. Before graduating you can perform an internship in a company of your interest.
    3. There are many online and free workshops and conferences related to professional topics, from companies such as shneider, abb and general electric.
    4. You can make a professional internship after graduating, in which you can explore areas of your interest.

I hope I have helped you a lot

    Keep going champion!!
