Q I have some questions about the essay contest. Nowhere in the requirements does it state what type of writing style must be used. I would like to write my essay as a narrative story. I want to make sure this is acceptable before I get to attached to an essay that is ineligible. Can I write mine as a narrative or must I write it in a research format? I greatly appreciate your time and would love some clarification on this topic. Sincerely, A Concerned Applicant A Dear Concerned Applicant, The requirements of the contest do not state the format of the essay specifically because we want to allow you the creative license to write in a format that works for you. We receive a number of narrative format essays each year, and often they are quite good. So long as you meet the requirements listed, please feel free to write in a way that you feel best conveys your thoughts.
