Being female and minority in civil engineering
Hi! My name is Jahleel Gordon and I am interested in becoming a civil engineer. I'm currently a freshman at Broward College in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and I'm planning on transferring to my dream school, Georgia Tech♥. My question to you is how difficult was it to major in civil engineering as a female? And due to fact that I am both female and african American, how much harder must I work to fulfill my goal? Because my mother isn't very fond of my choice of major and my dad is kind of in that "It's whatever you want, sweetie." type vibe. I would love for some advice, and thank you so much in advance.
