  • Describe what you do in your current work situation.
    I am an electrical & electronics engineer, engineering consultant, lecturer, project manager of the final year projects of the management information system program, and researcher.
  • Why did you choose engineering?
    It is self-rewarding, challenging, innovative and creative.
  • Where did you go to school and what degree(s) do you have?
    PHD in Micro Nano electronics, Lille1 university - France (in process). Masters in Electrical & Electronics Engineering - Lebanese University - Lebanon
  • What kinds of activities have typically been part of your work?
    Research and project management, lecturing, consulting.
  • What do you like best about being an engineer?
    Being a women engineer, being Innovative, having the skills of problem solving
  • Which of your career accomplishments are you proudest of?
    Getting my PHD and Master in engineering, and being on the honor list (ranked many times the first in my class where 95% of the students were male)
  • What challenges have you met and conquered in your pursuit of an engineering career?
    The acceptance of the society of the women in engineering, the job opportunities
  • Please tell us a little about your family.
    My father : professor of Math My sister , Radiologist Brothers : Dentist and Pharmasist Married to a telecom engineer, and I have 2 kids. My daughter is 10 years old, and my son is 5 years old.
  • What are your short-term (1-2 years) and long-term (10+ years) goals?
    Short Term Goals : - Finish my PHD degree - work on international research in my field (Nanoelectronics)  Long term goals - To be a scientist - make a change in my students to pursue the engineering career - orient my daughter to the engineering field
  • What (or who) had/has the greatest influence on your life choices?
    My parents, specifically my father, and my instructors and professors
  • What advice would you give to a young woman considering a career in engineering?
    My dear future Engineers, Go for it!  You are gifted for being multitasking, smart, intelligent, innovative, dedicated, and commited, so use all that and you will make a difference in the world.

    Drawing, playing piano, reading many technical books related to my field (nanotechnology)

    Hello I am a senior high school student, and i want to know do we need a very deep knowledge in math in the engineering field especially electrical engineering? Actually, I live in Lebanon, and I am in the life science branch, so do I need to take more math or physics courses in the future? Thanks for any advice.
