Hi! I'm a junior in high school and I'm currently enrolled in my school's magnet program and because of it I have been able to take a class that is very much involved with engineering. Very often than not I find myself very confused and discouraged in this class. I know engineering is something I aspire to work in yet being surrounded by so many people that know what they're doing makes me lose that confidence I have in knowing I want to be and engineer. My question to you is : Have you ever ...

Hi Patricia, I would like to start off by stating what a role-model you are! I'm a business student concentrating on Finance and Construction Management and after doing more research I feel that the construction industry interests me a lot! My concern is that since I'm not majoring in Civil Engineering, but rather specializing in Construction Management in the business school that I won't have an advantage in the workforce. I'm on my second year first semester at IIT and I wonder whether a ...

Hi, I was just wondering if you have ever felt intimitdated or discriminated against, being a good-looking female in the engineering department? I'm a 23 year old female studying civil engineering and I've been holding off completing college in fear that it will soon be time to get into the male-dominated field. Even in everyday life I am bothered by men and I just seeing how successful you are, do you have any tips to avoid or deal with such events in the work field?

Dear Madam, I am a girl from India pursuing my 3rd year civil engineering at a private university. I have an idea of doing MS in either construction and Management or Environmental Engineering. It would be really helpful if you could give me an idea about the job prospects of these two branches since I would be considered as an international student in USA. What are the steps or procedures to make myself fit for jobs in these areas of interest. Thank you
