Good day, Engr. Alicia. I have already graduated with a degree that is far related from civil engineering. I followed my parents' decision for me at that time. But now that I'm making my own money, I want to follow my heart's calling. I have always wanted to be a civil engineer. My mum is an engineer, as well and she didn't think I would survive engineering classes because I am not that good at maths and physics. But when I look at the buildings, bridges, tunnels, and contemplate how those are ...

I don't know what to do now. It's really a struggle to wake up every morning knowing that i will leave my apartment doing a thing i don't love anymore. ...

Hello, I am currently in my final semester of my B.E Computer Science Engineering. The only thing I've realized is that I am not such a good coder, maybe that's why I haven't got placed yet in any of the companies that has visited my campus. Back in my college days, I was inclined towards Physics and always wanted to take up Aeronautics/Aerospace as a Career then, but seeing that CSE was easier I opted for that. Now that I know CSE isn't for me, can I pursue in Aeronautics? How can I validate ...

Hello, My name is Alex and I happened to stumble on this website in search for some engineering advice. I currently study environmental science but have found myself extremely interested in engineering, especially when it comes to cars and transportation. The university I am currently attending doesn't have any engineering programs so I would have to transfer to a different school. I am about to finish my third year of school, and I am nervous that if I switch now it would be too late for me or ...

I'm in my final year of high school, and I am trying to decide between Civil and Mechanical Engineering. I am currently leaning towards Civil, but would that mean I would have to travel frequently? I do not mind travelling from time to time, but I do want to be close to friends and family. I also heard that there were design firms, where civil engineers have office jobs, but do they require previous experience of being on-site (which probably means travelling a lot?) ? Would it also require ...

Hi. I am a girl in my last year of high school. I am not a math genius, but I am good enough. Originally, I wanted to take environmental eng major in college, but my father opposed me. I live in a developing country where many people -but not all- are still not environmentally conscious, my father said that this major and job field is rather under appreciated in my country. I did some browsing and found out that other ways to become an environmental eng is to have a degree in civil eng or ...

Hi! I am really interested in pursuing a career in engineering, with a particular interest in renewable energy. I would like to be doing quite hands on stuff, like designing things. I am not really sure whether mechanical or civil would be best for this! Or which one I would prefer to do - what do you think would be best for this? Or is most likely to cover this topic? Also, I am looking into taking a gap year before I go to university, but some people have told me this isn't good for an ...

My question for you is: How hard is it for someone who doesn't have American citizenship to get a job at NASA, or any other Aerospace job? I'm 24, I'm an Aerospace Engineer curently studying a Master in Air Transport Engineering, but as you know there's not too much aerospace going on in Romania. Therefore I'm intrested in the chances I have for practicing in the field I've studied because at this point the future doesn't seem that bright.

I am a freshman in high school, and I would like to become an engineer in the future. I have been debating between aerospace and biomechanical engineering. I have recently been interested in working for companies working on research in space and beyond, notably SpaceX and Nasa. However, I do have an adoration for technology in the biology field, as I do have interest in biology along with an engineering twist. However, I have heard there are not many opportunities for biomechanical engineers. ...

Hello, I started my college career in physics and have since realized that it may not be best suited to my goals. My number one goal is to help the environment, so I've been going back and forth between environmental and civil engineering. I am wondering which of these would give me the most options to help the environment while also having job security. Can you please help me to discern the two or possibly point me in the best direction? Thank you!
