Tsu-Jae King Liu Named New NAE President

On May 8, the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) announced that its next president will be Tsu-Jae King Liu. Her term as president will start on July 1, 2025. She is currently a professor and the dean of the College of Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. She will be the first woman to serve as NAE president.

Tsu-Jae grew up near San Francisco, California. She got her bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD in electrical engineering from Stanford University. She has nearly 100 patents and has co-authored over 500 research papers! Tsu-Jae’s research involves semiconductors, which are a part of every smartphone and computer.
