  • What I Do

I take part in organizing and troubleshooting the electronics to be mounted on the electric bikes. I also do a follow-up on our clients and to track performance of our products.

  • Why Engineering?

I chose Engineering because it was a calling ever since childhood. I was curious to know why the gadgets in the house behave the way they did. For example, I wanted to know why the radio volume varied when I played with the tuning knobs and with time I realized I was always interested in learning more about these gadgets, hence choosing an engineering course in the field of electronics.

  • School Days

I went to the International University of East Africa. I have a bachelors degree in Mobile and Satellite Communications Engineering

  • My Day At Work

It's awesome! Responding to clients' emails and taking in clients' orders. Taking visitors through what we do at the workplace and taking orders from customers. It's really fun.

  • Best Part

Being an engineer is so fun, every day is an opportunity to learn something new and learning something new comes with challenges which makes us even more knowledgeable.

  • Proud Moments

Having my project aired on national television

  • Challenges

As an electronics engineer in a world of changing technology, you always have to keep on trend. As I said I love challenges, so am always challenged to make more research.

  • My Family

I am from an extended, humble family in Uganda, well known for loving God and caring for the community.

  • Dreams and Goals

My short term goal is to start my own company in 3 years to come.

My long term goal is to have people in the remote areas of Uganda and Africa appreciate technology by organizing Tech camps to both the old and young generation because we are living in a technologically developing world. Tech is becoming MUST! In these camps, the young generation will be trained in local production so as to minimize imports.

  • Inspiration

My biggest inspiration has been my name, AYE is a Luo word for "I BELIEVE." Whenever things get tough and I am almost giving up I am reminded to believe in myself. Growing up my Grandma always told me to believe in myself and that I can do whatever I think of.

  • Want to be an Engineer?

Young lady, you can do it. Grab your chance now and don't let it go.

  • Hobbies

I love swimming, travelling, reading and spending my time with children because they have very brilliant ideas.

Biography
My name is Rachael Aye and I'm a 22 year old Luo girl from Uganda. Apart from engineering, I love children because they are so cute, innocent, intelligent and full of love. I enjoy long drives with friends and swimming. I believe that out with friends is where the ideas are discussed and probably where the CEOs come from.
