  • What I Do

    I'm a traffic/transportation engineer for BIG RED DOG Engineering in Austin, Texas! Our bread and butter are traffic impact analyses for private developments in Texas. However, we also do municipal work! My biggest interest is in pedestrian and bicycle operations/infrastructure.

  • Why Engineering?

    It's a challenging field, but you reap the benefits! I'm a person who needs to be challenged in order to stay engaged, so engineering was perfect for me!

  • School Days

    I went to Texas A&M University from 2013 - 2017 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering! It was tough and I wanted to quit A LOT, but I'm so glad I stuck with it!

    Another huge part of my college career was being on the triathlon team. Our women's team got third and our team overall got fourth in the nation my senior year! It was a blast!

  • My Day At Work

    I work on a small team of traffic/transportation engineers and planners and we all project manage different projects based on interest. I mostly work on the projects with one or two other people, which always makes things more fun and productive!

    I have to make site visits every once in awhile to assess existing facilities at a project site or observe traffic patterns. It's always great getting out and seeing stuff from the ground! It gives you a whole new perspective.

  • Challenges

    The challenging, but exciting part of my job is that no project is the same; people and traffic patterns are different everywhere! You have to think like a local and get to know the area in order to accurately assess the surrounding roadways.
