The first step toward being an engineer is to be curious about how the world works. Take as many math, science and technology classes in school as you can. Dream up solutions to everyday problems. Ask your school counselor about programs for girls interested in engineering. Talk about engineering with engineers in your community--engineers are everywhere doing all kinds of exciting engineering jobs!
