Are these two questions the same?

Question: Doesn't the question "Identify specific engineering disciplines that have contributed to the technology and explain how the unique contribution of these different engineering disciplines is significant" also answer "Explain...how engineers were involved"? What is the difference between the questions?

Dear Aditya,

The first sentence you list is more specific. It asks you to explain the contributions of specific engineering disciplines which is more than is required of the lower age-group. In essence by answering that question you will probably also answer the second question.
