Hello Marie,

Human Factors studies systems or a specific job's impact on a human. You can work anywhere from a lab to a company. Since I am still in academia most of the research is done in a lab. Some projects I know of are finding ways to lessen the amount of injuries people get from handling baggage at airports, coming up with interfaces for websites and tools utilize by schools, companies etc., doing time studies to determine standards for different jobs. Below is a link to one of the professional organizations for this type of engineering. I encourage to check it out this way you can see more information about what people are doing in this field.
