Petroleum Engineering

Hi, I got an unconditional offer letter from Leeds university for petroleum engineering(P.E.). Should i go for it?
What type of job is P.E exactly? My parents are worried about me, a GIRL, needing to go outside to work. Is there any indoor work after finishing my P.E. degree?
Thanks. =)

Hi TN,

Most petroleum engineers work in a laboratory or office, although sometimes they may also spend time at drilling sites. If the idea of designing methods for extracting oil and gas from the earth is interesting to you, then I don't think anything should hold you back.  Good luck.
