Why Engineering?
I love working in teams and dealing with people from different walks of life who perform a variety of jobs. I collaborate with others about 95% of my day.
I learn something new every hour. When you are an engineer, your job evolves constantly. As you improve the system you are working on, new opportunities and learning experiences come along.
My Day At Work
I certainly don’t sit at a desk all day and work on calculations and formulas! I’m out in the plant, talking with people, making sure things are running smoothly.
Proud Moments
I led a $5 million refinery expansion. Without the expansion, we would have lost business. My team finished, in less than a year, a project that was expected to take two years.
Challenges
I was in a different situation than most young women my age. I had my son after my senior year of high school, but I still wanted to go to college. I worked and put myself through school, and I raised my son on my own.
Hobbies
Reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
