My current work is totally research focused. I am working in for the power optimization of Wireless Sensor Networks. It includes analyzing the research problem with different perspectives and finding out the possible optimized solutions.

Inherent interest in science and mathematics and always excelling in these subjects was the basic motivation to choose engineering.

My day starts with the role of a typical house wife and a mother- getting sons ready for school, preparing their breakfast and lunch boxes etc. but once I leave the home I get totally involved with my study and research work. I also enjoy to work as teaching assistant in my institute, it keeps me attached with my beloved profession of teaching.

Being an engineer is nothing but having a very realistic view towards life. It helps you to think positive and make things possible, develops attitude to solve problems, helps to understand the things as they are.

To become an engineer is a matter of pride for me as no one in my family was in this field. Recently being selected for Google India Women in Engineering Award 2009 is also a matter of pride. Very successfully I contributed in developing an engineering college at my native place in all respects and also won the prize of Best Teacher when I was working as assistant professor at that institute.

Main challenge I faced in my engineering career was balancing between career and family responsibilities. I pursued my masters and now pursuing Ph.D. after marriage and being a mother that was the toughest job because one can not be over prioritised on other but because of the support from husband, parents and in-laws it all become possible.

I am lucky enough to have a very big joint family. I have four sisters, parents, grand parents, uncles and aunts at my parental home and presently living with my husband, mother in law, father in law ands two sons. Three brother in laws and their families are also a part of my bigger family. Appreciation from family members always motivates me to do better and better.

Short term goal includes completing my Ph.D. which includes publishing more research papers in journals and international conferences. Long term goal includes establishing quality education engineering institutes in the remote, backward area of India.

My parents who gave me the freedom and strength to choose what I want and my loving husband who inspired and supported me to reach higher and higher have the greatest influence in my life and career.

Associated with the spiritually oriented Vivekanand Kedra working for the purpose of Man making and Nation building. I like reading historical novels, playing with children, cooking, home decorating etc.

Field of engineering is very dynamic. Once you start walking it will make you to run. It teaches you to keep your knowledge updated, it teaches you to over come hurdles and helps to synchronize other aspects of life with your career. Be an engineer.

Currently I am pursuing Ph.D. from Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information & Communication Technology (DAIICT) at Gandhinagar. I completed my primary education in a small village, but really supportive and devoted teachers helped me to make the basics clear, and also I learned working hard from my teachers. These two things helped me a lot afterwards when we shifted to a city, and I was able to maintain good academic records. I passed all board examinations with distinction and stood first in the school. I did my Bachelor of Engineering from Pune University and Master of Engineering from JNVU Jodhpur.
