Career Description

"Don't quit...have the self esteem to realize that you deserve the chance and that you are willing to take it...no matter how hard it is."

What I Do

I currently support my company in providing organizational and program management solutions to the Office of the Special Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Chemical and Biological and Demilitarization Programs.

Why Engineering?

I chose engineering due to my love of science and biology and my desire to understand how things work.

My Day At Work

I provide program analysis and organizational and strategic solutions to aide the Chemical and Biological and Demilitarization Program in keeping our nation and our soldiers safe.

The Best Part of Being an Engineer

I love the insight engineering gives to both social and scientific, complex problems.

Proud Moments

I am proud to have served as a Logistics/Combat Maintenance and Munitions Officer in the United States Air Force.

Challenges

I had to work to pay for my schooling and it was exhausting at times. There were times I wanted to quit, but I didn't.

My Family

I have a mother and father that taught me that there was nothing I couldn't do with an education. I see them improve themselves everyday and I have two older sisters who are constantly challenging themselves to learn more to better understand the world around them and themselves. I never want to stop learning.

Dreams and Goals

I would like to save enough money to earn my PhD from MIT in Organizational Management or Systems Engineering. Long term, I would love to teach at the college level.

Inspiration

My grandfather taught me to balance my head with my heart and to challenge both of them to learn exponentially. He was the smartest man I ever met...and barely made it out of highschool as he left early to fight in WWII as a Marine.

Hobbies

I love the outdoors and spending time with my dog. I also love the movies and reading books on physics. One of my favorite books is the Phantom Tollbooth.

Want to be an Engineer?

Don't ever give up...education is the one thing no one can ever take away from you.

School Days

I went to school at the University of Kansas where I studied Chemical Engineering and Cellular Biology. I received my MBA from the University of Phoenix
