Biography
I am a Fire Protection Engineer at the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Fire protection engineering is the application of science and engineering principles to protect people and their environment from the destructive fire and includes: analysis of fire hazards; mitigation of fire damage by proper design, construction, arrangement, and use of buildings, materials, structures, industrial processes, and transportation systems; the design, installation and maintenance of fire detection and suppression and communication systems; and post-fire investigation and analysis. Fire Protection Engineers at NFPA work with people from around the world including fire fighters, builders, architects enforcing authorities and other engineers to answer technical questions on NFPA codes or standards, manage technical committee’s in the standard development process, and provide training to create awareness, help save lives and reduce fire losses.
