What I Do I lead a design and manufacturing team of 200+ staff that deliver solutions for space and national security.
Why Engineering? I chose my career because it is all about innovation. I have been a part of the innovation ecosystem my entire career. It allows me to solve problems and connect people for big impact.
School Days After high school in South Carolina, I attended an HBCU, Tuskegee University. Over the next three decades I earned a masters and a PhD as well at Capitol Tech University in Maryland.
My Day At Work I am involved in reviewing technical analysis and products involving electrical and mechanical solutions.
Challenges I am a minority female and have had people assume I am not leading an effort but there as a secretary, I have had others underestimate my skills.
Dreams and Goals Continue to lead my team in delivering greatness for our nation. Retire and help students become machinist, welders, electrical technicians, engineers and scientists.
Want to be an Engineer? Go for it! You can travel, engage with different technologies and go very far!
