What I Do I work on a Major Capital Project as the leader of the engineering, systems completions, and commissioning teams. I oversee the stage of the project that commissions and starts-up brand new equipment, and provides resolution to engineering and construction issues as they arise.
My Day At Work I work rotationally (meaning I work 28 straight days, and then have 28 days of vacation, etc) in Angola, Africa for my project. My typical work day requires me to provide instruction to field engineers, as well as providing guidance and deciding on resolutions for technical problems.
My Family I am married with no kids. My husband is also a chemical engineer on an international assignment, and lives full time in Saudi Arabia. I travel very frequently to visit him and meet on international vacations during my time off.
Dreams and Goals Long term, I would like to transition to leading green energy construction projects.
Want to be an Engineer? Look at the specific jobs available for engineers (and Companies that are hiring engineers) in the field that you are interested in. It is important to also take a look at what cities you want to see yourself living in as an adult, and finding if there are jobs in your field in that city.
Hobbies In addition to travelling around the world, I like to rock climb, cook, hike (with and without my dogs), and read.
