What I Do I manage the largest portfolio of pharmaceutical inactive ingredients comprised of over $500 MM in sales to the pharmaceutical industry. 1 out of every 3 oral solid drugs globally contains a product in my portfolio. I set the strategy of how to align resources across various functions to give our customers, pharmaceutical companies, the most valuable, differentiated offerings. Most importantly, I work with my research and development teams to ensure the technical solutions offered are really solving customer problems.
Why Engineering? From a young age, I understood that engineers solved important problems and made an impact, and I was surrounded by an encouraging family that helped my believe that I was suited to be an engineer.
Proud Moments In 2019, in recognition to the work I do in STEM outreach, I was chosen by the American Association for the Advancement of Sciences as 1 out of 125 STEM women across the country to serve as a role model. I was featured in an exhibit of life-size statues of all of the chosen women in Dallas, Texas, in the summer of 2021 in the largest display of women statues in the world!
My Family I have 3 beautiful kids - a 13 year old daughter, an 11 year old son, and a 5 year old son. We have so much fun together!
Inspiration I chose a career in engineering because I grew up in a family of engineers – my grandfather, father, uncles, and brothers are all engineers. I was never asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I was instead asked what type of engineer I would be and what types of problems I wanted to solve. How incredibly lucky I was to have had that experience growing up!
Want to be an Engineer? Challenge yourself with math and science classes, create a community of supporters amongst your friends, and know that just because something feels hard, it doesn't mean you weren't meant to do it - keep working hard.
