Close Up
  • What I Do

I am presently consulting on quality assurance in cannabis, as it is a legal medicine here in 🇨🇦 and I possess a Technician certificate in a Cannabis QAQC. I am also studying part-time for my M.Eng in Biomedical Engineering.

  • Why Engineering?

Because of the mathematical challenge and its practical nature. My love of nature and the environment led me to a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering, Specialization in Environmental Engineering and I worked in environmental protection for over a decade.

  • School Days

University of Ottawa, B.A.Sc. in Chemical Engineering, with Specialization in Environmental Engineering. Presently pursuing M.Eng in Biomedical Engineering at Carleton U and Ottawa U (joint program, part-time).

  • My Day At Work

Lots of research and reading, previously performed field work (environmental sampling of groundwater, soil and sediment, well installations), meeting clients, writing contracts and proposals, report writing. Now it's more studying and looking for contracts.

  • Best Part

The challenge it presents, along with the duty to make society a safer and better place.

  • Proud Moments

Setting up first of its kind environmental management systems and greening construction projects for the Canadian Federal Government.

  • Challenges

Sexism, misogyny, and many not understanding exactly what an engineer actually does!

  • My Family

Partner, daughter, and a whole bunch of animals!

  • Dreams and Goals

Complete M.Eng and possibly start my own company.

  • Inspiration

    Curiosity!

  • Want to be an Engineer?

Put in the hard work of gathering the math tools you need - then comes the interesting work!

Biography
I didn't come from a privileged background so I understand that engineering can be so much more difficult without mentors - that's why I'm here!
