What I Do I lead teams, coordinate resources, and work with customers to develop seats for airplanes. I also use my programming skills to automate processes and data collection for the project management team.
Why Engineering? I chose engineering because people told me I was told my brain "wasn't wired that way" and that it would probably be too hard for me, and I wanted to prove that I was smart enough and strong enough to do it anyway.
School Days I graduated from Purdue in May of 2019 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a minor in intellectual property law. My favorite part, though, was getting a certificate in entrepreneurship and innovation with an emphasis on business planning for social entrepreneurship.
Best Part The best part of being an engineer is knowing that I have the ability to learn, collaborate with others, and synthesize information to solve any problem thrown at me, even when the challenge is outside my comfort zone.
Proud Moments My proudest achievement is being a Daniels Fund Scholar. Without the Daniels Fund I would not have had the opportunity to attend Purdue, and I would not have the amazing network of individuals that I've connected with through the organization.
Hobbies I love to sing and am looking forward to being able to participate in a community choir again. I also love to embroider, and have recently started making watches to sell and benefit local LGBTQ+ organizations.
