What I Do I work as a Senior Engineer specializing in Project Engineering. I work in the aftermarket business for aircraft interiors, specifically re-designing, modifying, and certifying commercial airline seats.
School Days I went to the University of Southern California, achieving a B.S. in Astronautical Engineering.
Inspiration My dad has been a big inspiration for me. He's always made my education a priority and pushed me to go beyond my limits.
Want to be an Engineer? If you want to be an engineer, my greatest advice would be to never give up and never question your intelligence or your place in a room. Even though times are changing and more girls are being exposed to STEM at early ages, there is still a large gender gap in engineering. Often you find yourself as one of few women engineers in a whole building. In college, you'll begin to recognize that many of your male peers started thinking like engineers at young ages because they were encouraged and nurtured to do so. On the flip side, girls are not often nurtured in this way. Do not let this intimidate you from realizing your potential as an engineer. You don't need to have a strong background in math and science your whole life to be a good engineer. All you need is hard work, perseverance, and confidence.
Hobbies I love reading and writing fiction. I recently finished reading the Harry Potter series, albeit late to the game, and absolutely loved it! I also have a large house plant collection, which I keep adding to despite not having enough space in the house.
