Close Up
  • What I Do

I lead a team of engineers that is responsible for deploying Lean and Agile Operating systems across the company.

  • Why Engineering?

Since I was a kid, I was always curious as to "how things worked" and I love to solve problems. That is what engineers do everyday!

  • School Days

I attended the University of Iowa and have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA. I also attended the Stevens Institute of Technology and have a Systems Engineering accreditation.

  • My Day At Work

Project management, leading people and teams, systems engineering on avionics programs (avionics are what helps the pilot fly the aircraft and communicate with other systems!).

  • Best Part

Applying technologies to the aerospace industry to helping make flying a safe experience!

  • Proud Moments

Getting to work on a new technology that was the "first ever" and was featured in the Smithsonian!

  • My Family

I live in Marion, Iowa with my husband, my three kids, and my dog, Liberty!

  • Dreams and Goals

To enjoy what I am doing, enjoy who I am working with, and make a difference for my company and in the lives of others!

  • Inspiration

My dad. My mom unfortunately passed away when I was only 9 years old, and he wore both hats of "mom and dad". He showed me how to persevere through tough times and to work hard to pursue my goals.

  • Want to be an Engineer?

Engineering is about trial and error. Too often girls and women feel the need to "be perfect". Mistakes happen when you experiment and is part of the process, and mistakes are ok!

  • Hobbies

I love sports, music, traveling, and eating good food!

Biography
I am a passionate engineer who is an avid volunteer within my company and in my community. The majority of my work experiences are leading projects and teams in the systems (hardware/software) and software engineering disciplines. I have volunteered and represented the company at numerous K-12 activities. I was the past chair of the Introduce a Girl to Engineering program, helped create events such as “STEM Day the Rockwell Collins Way”, which promoted bringing kids and families to work to learn about what our company does and to promote examples of women in engineering.
