Is computer coding important for mechanical engineering?

Hi Esmeralda!  The answer depends on what kind of engineer you want to be.  To work as a mechanical engineer, only a basic knowledge of coding is required.  Typically, mechanical engineering students are required to take one coding class in college.  Other engineers, like Computer Engineers, take many coding classes as part of their studies.  If you end up really enjoying coding, you may want to explore some engineering disciplines other than mechanical engineering (or even computer science!) that will allow you to use your coding knowledge more frequently.
