I'm not good at math so how can I get better at engineering? Can a girl at any age become an engineer?

I am in the 6th grade and in math i got a C.

Hi Aubri! I am so glad that you found EngineerGirl! Just because you got a grade that you are not satisfied with does NOT mean that you are not good at something. One grade does not determine your future nor your capability! And yes, I believe that every girl has the potential to become an engineer if that is what they want to do when they grow up. Everybody is different, and you may find that you may have to work harder in a certain subject to learn it. There was a class like this for me, too: PHYSICS. Do you know that I got a D+ in my first physics class in college? I had to retake that class and I was devastated! But the important thing is that you stick with it, learn from your mistakes, and NEVER GIVE UP. I took my Physics class again, did much better, and went on to graduate and become an engineer. Stay determined! Never tell yourself "I am not good at this." What you can do, though, is talk to your teacher about getting some extra help from them in math, or somebody else that they recommend. Remember, you ARE good at math, but you may have to work a little harder at it than others. And that is OK - you can still be an engineer when you grow up and please don't give up on that dream.
